Independence County’s 17 coaches earned an average salary of $32,948 in 2022, according to the U.S. Department of Education.

This is the 11th lowest average salary per county earned by coaches at Arkansas post-secondary schools during 2022.

Independence County is home to just one post-secondary school which paid coaches during 2022.

Male coaches of men's teams received $36,353 on average in Independence County, while female coaches in charge of women's teams earned an average of $31,443.

Research from the Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management found NCAA coaches are compensated like CEOs, with top coaches earning more than $1.5 million annually.
