Census Bureau: 78.9% of people in Sharp County were old enough to vote in 2021

Of the 17,243 citizens living in Sharp County in 2021, 78.9% were old enough to vote, equating to 13,611 individuals, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained on Oct. 26.

Further breakdown reveals that of the voting-eligible population, 6,658 were male, constituting 48.9%, and 6,953 were female, making up 51.1%.

The percentage of citizens old enough to vote in Sharp County during 2021 was higher than the state average, which stands at 76.5%.
