Mike Hietman is one of our dispatchers. He comes to us from Des Moines, Iowa but he now calls Horseshoe Bend home. He has spent 21 years in the law enforcement arena. Not only has Mike dispatched for Izard County, he has dispatched for other departments in the state. He said his interest in being in law enforcement must have come from watching too much Starsky and Hutch as a kid. Mike enjoys attending gun shows and eating Japanese food.
Jaden Whitfield has 9 years of law enforcement service and he currently serves as the Calico Rock School SRO. He is from Calico Rock and he is married with two children. Jaden was hired as a deputy by Sheriff Lawrence. He then transitioned to an SRO for Melbourne School, where he served several years. Jaden said he always wanted to help the community and started as a volunteer firefighter for Calico Rock before going into law enforcement. He enjoys anything outdoors and teaching his kids about the outdoors. He especially enjoys hunting, fishing, and scuba diving
