On February 8, Makayla Vickers, 22 of Melbourne, was arrested and charged with Criminal Mischief in the First Degree, a class D felony. A warrant for Lane Morris, 24 of Brockwell, has been issued for the same charge.
These charges stem from a report made on February 4, 2023 of vandalism to the Old Philadelphia Church on Larkin Road where graffiti was spray painted on the Church and steps.
A caretaker of the Church said efforts to clean the spray paint off the building were not successful and that the Church would need to be repainted.
This is a case where the public's involvement was crucial in obtaining the information needed that led investigators to Vickers and Morris. If you have information in any other crimes, please contact the Sheriff's Department at 870-368-4203.
