LYON COLLEGE ATHLETICS: Close to Home by Abigail Smithson. Artist exhibition, reception, and artist talk to be held August 26

The Kresge gallery is in the historic Alphin building on the campus of Lyon College. The reception is free and open to the public. The work of artist Abigail Smithson will be on display, and the artist will give a brief artist talk. The reception is from 5-6:30pm with the talk at 6. The reception will feature refreshments and drinks catered by Lyon Dining.

Close to Home is a collection of artwork that honors the legacy that Fred Danzig (1920-2015) left behind, including artwork made by him, his sisters Rose Schwartz (1922-2017) and Edith Grossman (1924-2021), his niece Lari Schwartz (b.1952) and his great niece Abigail Smithson (b.1988). This exhibition encompasses a multigenerational collection of art from the same family that offers various interpretations of beauty and observation.
