Flippin Chamber of Commerce recently issued the following announcement.

On July 3rd, Hickey Park will be the place to be to celebrate the nation’s Independence Day as the Flippin Fireworks Festival gets off to a booming start. This year’s entertainment will be featuring Nashville recording artist, Tyler Braden.

If ever there was a country artist ready to set the world on fire, it would have to be Tyler Braden. He has the gritty powerhouse vocal, the expressive pen and the ability to deliver a lyric with complete conviction worthy of a headliner. His early twenties saw him playing local shows and touring the southeast while serving as a first responder in Montgomery. A gig in Music City inspired a move north, and Braden continued firefighting in the suburbs of Nashville while preparing to take his music career to the next level. With nearly 30 million streams already to his name and a growing list of major tour credits, he introduced himself to world as a major label recording artist this spring with his hit “Brother.” Praised for his “commanding delivery” (Music Row), Braden offered the song as a tribute to his first responder family and all those fighting on the frontlines during the pandemic. Tyler also recently appeared on this years NBC America’s Song Contest with his single “Seventeen”.

Opening act for Tyler is our local group Shotgun divorce who will be returning for their 5th consecutive year. The show will begin at 6:15pm. Those attending are encouraged to bring their own blankets or chairs for seating. Due to the expected crowd and for public safety there will be no public parking in the park with the exception of handicap, VIP donations (with proof of pass) and one vendor vehicle. There will be shuttling from Vexus Boats, Ranger Boats and the Flippin School. Pick up and drop off will be at 2nd and Park Street by the walking bridge into the park. There will be other parking available that is a short walk into the park.

Returning to the activities in the Hickey Park is the Bounce House and Water Slide for the youngsters, the very popular Wall of Water by the Flippin Fire Department, and a patriotic ceremony with presentation of the flags during the National Anthem. KTLO will also be here from 4pm to 6pm with their cash box for a chance to win free money. There will also be a silent auction. Food concessions will offer a variety of food to please every pallet with hotdogs, hamburgers, ice cream, snow cones, funnel cakes, BBQ and more. Arts and craft vendors will return this year as well. Activities will begin at approximately 3pm.

The grand finale will be the spectacular fireworks display, designed and staged by the Flippin Fire Department, which is scheduled to begin at approximately 9:15pm.
