City of Cotter issued the following announcement on May 13.
Cotter citizens…. Be alert, there is a bear and a cub moving about through Cotter. It was just recently seen at Walnut Hill Cemetery. Do not approach the bear. We have alerted the necessary authorities and the Cotter School District. Thank you.
Update from Arkansas Game & Fish… please keep all trash carts in your garage if possible for now. We realize that this may not be possible for everyone. Please feed your animals indoors. Remove all deer and bird feeders. If you do find that your trash has been gone through, please call City Hall at 870-435-6326. Again, please do not approach. Thank you.
