Arkansas State University-Mountain Home issued the following announcement on May 7.
Do you have a dream of bringing new life to old furniture?
The ASUMH Community Education department offers a basic furniture painting class where students will learn cleaning, preparation, and tips on creating a beautiful piece of furniture using chalk paint. Simple distressing and glazing techniques will also be taught. Students can bring their own pieces subject to approval by the instructor. Examples are end tables, shelves, or a small chair. A handout will be provided with instructions.
Students can bring in a small unloved piece & create a piece you will LOVE & be proud of! Price includes all supplies, notebook with instructions, tips on cleaning, prepping, a variety of distressing methods, layering colors, & top coating, using Miss Lillian’s NO Wax Chock Paint product as well as Daydream Apothecary Clay & Chalk Paint.
Just bring yourself & a small piece to work on. (a piece that will fit within a 2X2 space such as an end table, shelf, a few frames, or a few drawers (if you have a dresser at home that you want to finish). The piece must be approved by the instructor beforehand. Once registered for the class you will receive contact information for your instructor.
