Flippin Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on May 2.
The May Chamber Member Spotlight is on The CALL in Cleburne County! The CALL is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to recruit, train, and then support Christian families to open their homes to foster children.
The CALL believes it is the church's responsibility to take care of the vulnerable and oppressed (James 1:27) and wants to empower the churches and Christian community to do this. There is a CALL affiliate in 57 out of the 75 counties in Arkansas. The CALL recruited and trained 135 new foster homes last year, statewide. They offer training and support at no cost to the families. 3,275 children were cared for by CALL recruited homes in Arkansas last year.
May is also Foster Care Awareness Month! Throughout the month, The CALL will be sharing why foster care matters and information on how you can get involved on their Facebook page. For more ways to support the CALL in Cleburne County, call 501-539-2776. The CALL is in need of donations of diapers (primarily sizes 3-4), lice kits, socks, and underwear. You may donate to The Call at 210 North 4th Street or drop donations off at the Chamber office.
Thank you 101.9 The Lake- KSUG for sponsoring the Chamber Member Spotlight!
