Lyon College Athletics issued the following announcement on April 22.
Lyon College’s chapter of Mortar Board, the Order of the Tartan, welcomed 31 new members at its annual induction and award ceremony Tuesday, April 19. Every year, the College solicits nominations from faculty and staff for rising seniors who have demonstrated leadership in scholarship, campus life and service to others.
“The chapter cannot have this continuing excellence without you. Please keep up your exemplary leadership, scholarship, and service as you move beyond college, upon graduation. Congratulations everyone!” said Mortar Board advisor Dr. Irosha Nawarathne.
Senior members received the following awards:
Chapter Citizenship Award - Marleigh Dodson, Alexander Holzwarth and Dylan Wyatt
Leadership Award - Olivia Echols, Hattie Milligan and Hannah Wu
Overall Excellence Award - Hattie Milligan and Benji Norton
Scholarship Award - Hattie Milligan, Jake Smith and Hannah Wu
Service Award - Sarah Guerrero, Benji Norton and Ashtyn Stevens
The Order of the Tartan also welcomed a new batch of initiates into the chapter. 31 students were inducted, taking the next step to continuing to strive for academic excellence.
