Batesville Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Mar. 10.
The Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Humane Society of Independence County’s (HSIC) custom Land Rover Defender vehicle. The ribbon-cutting will occur at HSIC’s Fleaman Barkus Thrift Store at 480 S. Central Ave. in Batesville on Thursday, March 17, at 10:30 a.m.
Recognized for its rescue, safe shelter, and loving home security work for abandoned, abused, and unwanted dogs and cats, HSIC was announced as the winner of the Animal Welfare category of the first-ever Land Rover ‘Defender Above & Beyond Service Awards.’ The fully-customized 2022 Land Rover Defender was awarded to HSIC after a nationwide competition where voters chose a video HSIC produced that touted the organization's transportation needs.
All community supporters, chamber members, ambassadors, board members, and staff are invited to attend.
