Batesville Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Dec. 6.
Before a lens is polished, it must first be shaped then ground to the desired curvature and thickness. The grinding technician typically places tool of lenses on a rotating spindle and uses an abrasive compound to remove the scratches left by the shaping operation. Technician uses precision gauges to ensure that finished parts conform to specifications. This job is somewhat repetitive and requires attention to detail.
