City of Cherokee Village recently issued the following announcement.
The city of Cherokee Village is seeking to appoint a qualified resident as City Clerk.
This is a part-time position with a salary.
If you are interested and meet the legal qualifications for this position; please submit a petition with 25 signatures of registered city voters to City Hall by 4pm, October 8.
CITY CLERK DUTIES
• Prepare agenda for City Council meetings and disseminate information to council members and media
• Take minutes and record votes at City Council meetings
• Serve as custodian of city ordinances and resolutions and process same and post accordingly
• Maintain historical records of the city
• Serve as a clearinghouse of information on local government
• Process all FOIA requests and inquiries on city business and public records
• Submit reports as required to City Council and for a legislative audit
• Process public notices and general information about city business and events
• Serve as Notary for the city
• Assist Mayor in city business when required by statute and as customary for the effective operation of the city
