Cost of college went up for resident students at the University of Arkansas Community College-Batesville

In-state tuition and fees rose 1 percent for 2018-19 at the University of Arkansas Community College-Batesville, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Arkansas residents paid $2,818 to attend the two-year public institution this year – $28 more than the $2,790 charged for 2017-18.

Non-resident students would have paid 16.2 percent more than residents this year, or $3,274. Non-resident tuition and fees were reduced 22.4 percent from $4,218 in 2017-18.

100 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Arkansas residents.

Data shows 95 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 221 students received grants or scholarships totaling $1.1 million and 30 students took out student loans totaling more than $139,364.

Including all undergraduates (1,319), 1,044 students used grants or scholarships totaling $3.8 million, and 214 students took out $1.1 million in federal student loans.
