Fulton County Commissioner Marvin S. Arrington Jr. announced on Mar. 2 that a series of Spring District Dialogue Town Halls will be held in 2026 to inform District 5 residents about the Homestead Exemption process.
The meetings aim to help homeowners understand how they can reduce their property taxes through the Homestead Exemption, which applies to owner-occupied primary residences. Residents must submit applications by April 1 for the exemption to apply to the current tax year; applications received after this date will be processed for the following year.
Arrington and senior staff from the Tax Assessor’s office will meet with residents during four scheduled events, both in-person and virtually. The first meeting is a virtual town hall set for Monday, March 9, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., accessible online at https://tinyurl.com/SDD2026.
Three additional in-person meetings are planned: Tuesday, March 10, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Economic Development Office (COSF) in College Park; Friday, March 13, from 11 a.m. to noon at New Beginnings Senior Center in Fairburn; and Monday, March 23, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Wolf Creek Library in South Fulton.
Residents are encouraged to attend these sessions for direct access to information and assistance regarding their eligibility and application process for Homestead Exemptions.
