Cost of college went up for all students at Ozarka College

In-state tuition and fees rose 2.5 percent for 2018-19 at Ozarka College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Arkansas residents paid $3,004 to attend the two-year public institution this year – $72 more than the $2,932 charged for 2017-18.

Non-residents paid 78.3 percent more than residents this year, or $5,356. Their price tag grew 1.4 percent from $5,284 in 2017-18.

About 84 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Arkansas residents. And about 8 percent are residents of other states.

Data shows 97 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 190 students received grants or scholarships totaling $857,525 and 40 students took out student loans totaling more than $161,864.

Including all undergraduates (1,123), 941 students used grants or scholarships totaling $4.7 million, and 270 students took out $1.1 million in federal student loans.
